The following comprises a proposal calling on the NYC Economic Development Corporation who oversees the NYC Ferry system to double bike capacity on early weekday service from Manhattan to Bay Ridge and Rockaway to 24 bikes in order to facilitate access to the robust network of bikeways spanning those destinations.

Benefits include increased ferry ridership and neighborhood tourism, and to draw down demand on a heavily-used Central Park.

Also to facilitate participation in a sport popular with the young professionals New York City relies on to maintain its standing as the world’s most competitive city.
